As the group moved away from the light and sandy shores of the island the light that had gradually started to spread itself once again started to disappear. They soon passed the small waterfall that had been found only a short while earlier. As they continued to move in the trees slowly gre closer and closer together until the way before the group was mainly a tangle of green and brown with a few shards of light piercing the greenery.

Steffan looked around for a stout branch that he could use as a club and more importantly something to move the heavy folage away.

"Damned foilage!" Eldrid hissed, trying to force his way along, tearing and ripping at the bushes and vines in his way. He missed his cutlass.

Luckily, most of the vines were not that strongly in place, and came away quite freely, the question was though, whilst this island was under the waves how exactly did this jungle manage to flourish so? Whilst the vines were coming away and the way could be cleared, it was quite difficult work when you took into account the number of vines that were there, as a huffing and puffing Eldrid soon realised. Unforunately for Steefan, there were not many trees that had branches that could easily be broken off, though there were a couple of moderately sized ones littered across the jungle floor.

Steffan picks up a sturdy four foot sized branch both for defense and for walking with.

Beads of perspiration dotted Arturo’s forehead and vines kept whipping at his legs and arms sometimes leaving red welts of his soft puffy skin. His breathing was laboured as his fought his way through the thick vegetation. “Mighty strange this” he noted “You would have thought this island would have been baron of flora and fauna after being submerged and yet here it is positively teeming with life”

''your right that is strange perhaps the magic of this island protects it from the water even when it is submerged? Or perhaps it never actualy becomes submerged ans simply teleports to another location? This is one of the mysteries I would like to solves tought I dare not keep my hopes up I do not think I will be able to my knowledge of magic is next to nothing and only one who understands magic to a large extend could ever hope to understand.''

"Is anyone strong enough to climb a tree and have a look around? I'm afraid I just don't have the arm strength to even try," Steffan said as he spied some really tall trees.

"Might be the vegetation become accostumed to occational dips into the drink, but for the water to stay freshwater... that ain't right," Eldrid muttered, looking around at the trees, but not making any move to start climbing. Instead he went back to hacking away at the vines.

“Yes it’s a bit of a mystery” responded Arturo gleefully “One theory might be that this island is somehow encapsulated by a sphere when it submerges, or it could be that it never actually descends into the sea just something merely changes people’s perceptions so they are no longer able to view it” Clapping his hands together as a child would at the thought of a new toy “I so do love getting to the bottom of a tale shrouded in mystery”

" I wonder if the island just moves and everyone thinks it has disappeared, I hope so anyway, don't want to get trapped on here if it starts to sink," Steffan said as he continued to move the vines aways with his branch. Sweat started to bead on his forehead, and he wished he had lighter clothes on.

''Well if the answer is somewere on this island perhaps we will find it. Tought since the people who lived here before we came didn't find it its problebly very well hidden.'' Says Finn

"I think we should press on, there could be a multitude of clues further on as to what exactly is going on here. I can't wait to start piecing together the pieces of this puzzle. I do wish that my tools hadn't been claimed by the sea though, it going to be mighty hard excavating without my trusty trowel and brush but heigh ho" Arturo pressed his bulk throught the forest, part of the vegetation clinging to his clothes as they snapped under the force of the archaeologist passing by

Eventually the jungle started to thin out, the trees become less and less densely packed together. Then, as the group found another small stream running through the trees they also found a neat stack of sun bleached bones. Around it the grass was growing quite well and starting to weave its way through the different holes that presented themselves.

“Well I never” exclaimed Arty, his knees creaked as he bent down “These bones have been here for a long time you would assume that they would have been scattered asunder instead they’re stacked up like a pack of playing cards” Turning towards the other men he chimed completely enthralled with the find “You know there are parts of this world that the bones of those that have been ritually sacrificed are presented in this form.”
Gently moving the blades of grass with his pudgy fingers Arty began looking for clues as to who the bones once belonged to and why they had been placed with such precision.
