Kell nodded and took the can, turned and headed for the vent. As he bent down to pick the grille up he listened to see if the commotion outside had died down any.

There's some shouting from street level: men, women and the occasional child. No voice jumps out at you. The shooting seems to have stopped - although in your experience that isn't always a good thing.

The bent grille comes away from the floor with an all too-noisy scrape from the floor.

Kell held the grille up against the opening with his left hand. Holding the can in his right hand he ripped the cap off the can with his teeth, spat it out, before giving the can a vigorous shake and pointing the nozzle at the top right hand corner of the grill. He squeezed the trigger gently and began to trace around the outer edge of the grill and the adjoining wall.

The gunk squirts lazily out of the can and in a second the grille is stuck fast in position. Behind you, you hear Brek testing the ladder's fixing point and the soft rattle of rungs as he makes his way downwards.
