Aegon Stettler has always been a suporter of the Tanoosi movement. In his youth - chiefly to impress a girl he liked - he actively took part in demonstrations, and even joined in a pseudo-revolutionary group, who had secret combat trainings and the like. The group was busted, and Aegon recieved a severe reprimand, almost losing his residency at the hospital he was training at. His father pulled string to keep him there, but forbid him to have anything to do with the Tanoosi in the future.
Aegon did as his father bid him... for a while. However, one evening Aegon came across a Tanoosi who had been beaten up on the street. He tried to help, but the man insisted he needed to see 'Scalpel'. Taking instrcutions from the hurt man, Aegon soon found himself in the home of a briliant Tanoosi surgeon who was working as a "back-alley surgeon", performing surgery on those who could not afford to get help at the big hosptials, or who could not, because they were in trouble with the law.
The two became friends, and together they began working in secret on ways to better certain procedures, combining traditional Tanoosi methods with more modern Vilisian ones. These proceedings were mostly on emergency operations, done with poor equipment, like 'Scalpel' was forced to deal with. But they also very much applied to combat situations; 'Scalpel' often had to deal wth patients who had been shot or stabbed. So the work they did could easily be applied to the military.
After their first, major breakthrough, which could make a definite difference under certain condition, Aegon wanted to take their discovery to his superiors and get them to approve, and make them see how important the Tanoosi influnce had been. It was a naïve idea, and Aegion's Tanoosi friend knew it. He made it clear that only trouble would come from reporting it, particularly for Aegon, who had sworn to his father not to mingle with the Tanoosi again. Begrudgingly, Aegon agreed to keep it between them.
After a second major breakthrough, Aegon once more sought to tell his superiors at the hospital where he worked about the discovery, being of the opinion that the work the two doctors had done, was too valuable to be ignored by the Vilisian government.Inspite of Scalpel's wishes, he did so, and was surprised when the hospital alerted the government of "illicit surgical proceedings". The government seized the work the two had done, arrested 'Scalpel' (although Aegon was only reprimanded, again), and soon the procedures the two had created were in use both at the hospital and in the military. Sonn after, Aegon received a promotion, despite the affair; an obvious attempt from the hospital to gloss over the episode. The whole affair sickened Aegon to no end, and he left his job.
He is currently roaming the galaxy, taking odd jobs, while trying to help the Tanoosi movement anyway he can, both through monetary gifts and by setting up contacts.
