Reaching the top with a 'bop' as he climbed into whatever was covering teh exit, Jack grunted, and tried to push the obstruction out of the way.

"Is there a hold up? Whats the problem?" asked Natasha coming up behind Jack on the ladder. She feels gingerly on the walls around her, that she can reach.

Muttering a curse, Jack started to feel around the edge of the concrete slab above him, looking to find a lever, bar or handle, that might open the exit; this was obviously designed as a emergency exit, and by virtue of that, ought to open in an emergency.
Damn... maybe they needed to spark off some alarm or something.

"Is something stuck, what's going on?" Jessica was getting a little on the scared side. Being stuck in a metal tube while the creature that god never intended to be on this earth was right below was not a situation she wanted to be in at the moment.

Natasha's reaching feels a ledge above her but jack is in the way to progress any further.
jack feels the wall in front and to the side as it goes out of safe reach.
although it is very dark none of you feel scared.

"I'm sorry, sir, but I think you have to back down just a little bit; I think I overstepped the mark, and climbed too high; there's open space to the side, but I can't feel anything to step on to."
Jack closed his eyes and opened them again, hoping to help his eyes to better adjust to the dark.

"I can feel a ledge to the side, if we can back down a bit. Jessica, down a couple of rungs please! Then Jack I can guide your foot to the ledge." Natasha strains in the darkness but can see nothing, she can sense Jack above her and Jessica below.

As much as she didn't want to head back down the ladder, Jessica went down a few rungs, hoping there was indeed a way out here, and that those creatures did not have the ability to climb.

Noticing the movemnet below him, Jack tried his best to hurry down to where Natasha had felt the ledge, and try to get of the ladder to allow the others to follow. He was at once a little envious of those below who had guns, but weight of the cleaver he had found felt decent, and he decided he could do some damage with it, if push came to shove. The sounds coming from below, indicated that this might very well be so.
"What are they shooting at down there?" he asked the darkness quietly, as he tried to reach the ledge.

"Believe me, you don't want to know." Jessica tried to keep whoever was above her from stepping on her knuckles ans she climbed lower so they could get to whatever other escape route they found. Please, let them hurry, she prayed silently.

"I'm sure that's true, sir. However, if we were to run into more of the same, I might be better prepared if I knew," Jack said, keeping his tone level and respectful; although the rules might have changed a little with what they ahd been through, but what precious litle memory he had, placed the bluehaired woman above his station, and he would struggle to keep that structure intact; discipline and structure was the glue that often saved a unit under enormous strain.

jacks reach finds the ledge and as he extends his body over the ledge continues only one thing for it grab it and pull.
looking down reveals the ladder and light from the hatch at the bottom gun fire echoes up and sounds like there is more gun fire then the two.

Jack grabbed on to the ledge and pulled himself up, ready to continue the move forward. "Do we move forward, sir? If those below don't fall back and follow us soon, we might end up separated."
