The small convoy leaves the relative safety of the farm house and grounds, the mood is serious. Especially with the increase in the amount of slugs and cannibals. The warehouse Mary told you about is just a couple of miles away and she gave a hastily scribbled map.

The streets seem eerily quiet as you drive. You pass a Morrisons supermarket, all the windows are smashed and there is grafitti all over the walls. There is also a large chemist shop in the same small town, it seems to be untouched.

Turning the steering wheel of the Landy, Peter flicks on the vehicle's indicator and pulls over. He keeps the engine running, his foot holding the old wagon's clutch in. "Supermarket may be a long shot," he says. "but that chemist looks like a good place to start."

He drives further towards it and parks up about four shops down on the far side of the road. The hand brake comes on with a grunt. "That'll need a bit of oil," he says absently. "Righto. Anyone want to be on point? Like they say in the movies." He readies a large rucksack and the crowbar he picked up at the farm. "This is surreal," Peter adds looking out through the windscreen and side windows.

Leon sat slouched in the back seat of the Landover, curling his fingers inwards he nervously scratched at the palm as he looked out at the eerie scene the abandoned town now painted. “Perhaps we should split into two smaller groups, we could cover more area that way” he replied “We could search both Morrison’s and the chemist ” he suggested

"I'd suggest that we get some weapons before we split up, though where we might get them is a wonder," Adam said sullenly, "There's not likely to be a handy gunshop we can rob, but what do you reckon to a police barracks, there must be one around close enough by."

Leon chuckled humourlessly “Where do you think you are living Adam LA?” He rubbed his forehead again “I don't think the local nick will have weapons, maybe some of the bigger more important ones might?”

[Early Bird]

Janet had sat quietly for the journey, squashed unobtrusively into a corner. She had ended up in the same car with Adam after all, but he seemed to be ignoring her and whilst not ideal, it was at least an improvement on the verbal battering he had been giving her all day. "I agree the chemist is the best option, that supermarket looks like it's been cleared out already. Maybe we'll have more luck at the warehouse, although others might have had the same idea. We'll need to be careful."

"What others" she thought to herself, surprised anew at how loud their voices sounded now the engine had stopped and the silence was absolute. It unnerved her, would she ever get used to it? "Can.. can I come inside with someone else when we decide where we're going first?" she asked a little self consciously. "I.. I really don't want to be outside on my own".

"Evidence lockers my Leon," Adam said, not liking the man's tone, "There's bound to be a couple of weapons, or at least tasers around."

"Certain cars will have a locked trunk in the back that contains weaponry," Peter says flatly as he looks around the street scene. "ARU's standard procedure." He scraches his stubbly chin. "'Course, getting into them won't be easy. Plus, won't they have been recalled when the sh** hit the fan during the panic kicked off? We might be better of with B & Q. At least they have axes."

"You could tag along with me, if you want," he says to Janet. "Here," he says reaching into his bag. "I did say I'd give you these." He offers her strip of tablets. Nicely wrapped up in their own little beds of plastic and foil.

"Thank you" said Janet taking the strip of tablets and slipping them into her pocket. Hopefully she would be able to find some water for when she needed to use them. "And yes, I'll stick with you if that's alright". But she would be watching him she thought privately.

Jennifer tried to catch the name of the tablets peter passed to Janet, but other than than kept her eyes and ears on the world outside the car.

Janet and Peter spy a boys face quickly glancing from one of the windows above the pharmacy, the others see some movement there. All except Leon who spies the small off licence/corner shop a littlefurther down the road.
The silence is deafening and eerie, the sounds of birds singing startles even the bravest of you as the engines are stopped.
