Liv mother died during her birth. She grew up with a single father who had made his living in the service of his country. He tried his hardest to make her the boy he always wanted. She spent most of her childhood wishing she was. Hair cropped short and a tough attitude, she didn't do that bad of a job. Not that she knew or that he would ever say it out loud, but Paul Snyder had been proud of his daughter. She caught on to everything he showed her from his training and he was sure she would follow in his footsteps and join. The day she told him she wanted to be an artist was a tough one, for both of them. He couldn't stand the shame he felt, having been a failure. I mean c'mon, an Artist? One of those bums on the street trying to sell their stuff for change? And his beautiful, smart, athletic daughter wanted to be a BUM? He disowned her that day. Heartbroken, daddy's li'l tom-boy left her strict father's single parent house at the ripe old age of seventeen. She found a job in the classifieds as a nanny. "Single mother looking for full time nanny to watch two young children, house five miles from nearest neighbor. One year old girl and four year old boy." Liv had always loved children. And having food and a place to stay trumped going to school in her book, as much as she regretting having to quit. She took the job and moved in with the young mother. They soon became fast friends and maybe a little something more. She enjoyed her happy little life in the house, away from everything, for six years. When the disease came, she and her little family stayed in their house. How foolish of them to let in that woman who came knocking at their door. She had looked fine at the moment and she had said she was lost. They took her in and the next day began to see the signs. Then they all became sick, every one of them. And every one died except for Alivia and one of the children. Loki, now ten, who she had grown to love as if he were her own. Loki and Liv buried the rest when they were feeling well enough to and started packing their things the next day. Neither could stand the memories. Maybe they would just go find another house to live in, if everyone was died like that cursed woman had said. They set off on their journey, hand in hand.
