"Yeah I'm geting that too" said Michele. "That feeling of doom, like the worst thing in the world is waiting the other side of that door. A defense mechanism" she continued thoughtfully. "I'm not sure what you meant by that, if you mean it's something coming from us that's making us not really want to get out, but what if it's a security measure built into the door? A field that's generated just here designed to affect our emotions and prevent us from escaping?" It was no more far fetched than anything else they had encountered in this place and Michele was sure the technology to do must exist, it was on a par with all the 'extras' they had discovered they possessed. "I'm with you Boss" she said smiling at Sage.

Brian remained quiet as everyone was talking he could feel the emotions of dread building up in his head, the strain was unbearable and all he could think of was the silent count down for the self destruction. He grunted in pain, "Ughhh, Let me out of here," and he started to run towards the exit.

"Great minds think alike" quipped Michele. "So what do you reckon, is this door locked? We might have to blast our way through, or maybe there's some mechanism somewhere that turns off the field.. if there is one and unlocks it". Michele began looking around the door area, trying to see if there were any sensors or switches, bringing her vision attributes into play in case anything was hidden.

jack: listening at the door your senses kick in fear begins to creep up on you at the sound you hear through the door a very deep stillness as though thousands are holding there breath as though not to give them selfs away.
Michelle : no switches or anything can be seen in the corridor.
sage: you get the feeling that when you do decide to move you all need to go together weather out or back.
brian you sense along with natasha and the rest movement behind you and turning you open fire on more of the fishmen.

Jack backed away from the door just as the firing began behind him, and in truth he was happy; focusing on more fishfolk made it so he didn't have to explain why he dreaded the door. Insetead he swivelled around and added his gunfire to Brian's.

Brian and Jack were taking care of the fresh wave of fishmen for now. Michele went over to Sage. "Nothing Boss, no switches or sensors or anything I can see. What do you say? We need to get out of here and now. Shall we see if the door opens? If not, we can always lob a grenade at it I still have a couple left".

Sage was buoyed up by the team’s intention to accompany her, her smile radiated out as she briefly glanced over them all “So we’re all agreed then...good, then we’ll move on altogether .” As Michelle reported her lack of success Sage just nodded “Should have known that this place wouldn’t have anything as obvious as a control panel for the door. Right we’ll try an open it and if that doesn’t work a frag grenade should. Are we all ready to move on?” she asked

Jack looked around, a little uncertain; the others sure seemed ready to go out. He didn't share their confidence. Usually he didn't fear much, certainly not death, but in this case, in the case of the unknown beyond that door, he felt a little nauseous. "Might be there's a turn-over switch for the self-destruct somewhere," he said, with false certainty. "Ought to be around here, right? Around the exit; so that if you find yourself having survived a hellrun through the fascility, one that you hadn't expected to survive and therefore activated the self-destruct, you could turn it off and walk away without blowing up a fortune worth of equipment, right? Or heck, maybe... If we sorta belong here..."
He looked up at the ceiling, looking for anything like sensors or receivers, and shouted: "Abort self-destruct sequence!"
