Alana just sighed as her companion waved the bag of coins. She was tempted to slice it open with her dagger, grab the coins that fell into small hands and play a game of 'catch the gnome' with Sven, but he seemed too tired for such a game. They would get their rooms soon enough she was sure of it, and for the moment the large stool she was seated on was very comfortable after all the walking she had done.

Hextor took his place next to Sven. Sven's food and drink were on the way and then the innkeeper was to see to their rooms. He had no issue waiting a little longer for some thing to cool his mouth and fill his stomach. He was used to fasting and not eating for days on end didn't hinder him in the slightest.
The night would surely be filled with looks of alcohol, gambling and most likely some fighting too. Tomorrow though, he would scourer the village for any information regarding this evil presence.

The woman who serves you seems to be rude and short-tempered most of the time as she tells you were to go and then slams the food down on a table in front of sven, meanwhile, a musician starts to play, and at the first note, you can tell this won't be a quiet evening, as you can tell he is a very offkey and his voice is also offkey.

Alana was glad that they had found such a pleasant place to stay, so full of entertainment. "Well, we sure know how to pick them. Let's eat up and see what kind of entertainment this town has at night."

With his keg tapped and cold, his bread warm and not very mouldy, Sven begins eating and drinking plenty. Not really a fan of the music he decides to cloud his senses with drink and the conversations of the group, keeping relatively quiet himself. There wasn't much point of starting a fight here anyway.

Alana signalled that she was ready to eat as well. First, she would get a full stomach, and then she would case the place to see what kind of gambling crowd she had. She was hoping to see a few people with some money, maybe even a town guard or two. A room would be provided, and if they managed to leave the town with a few more coins than they started with, then things were looking up.

''Stew, bread and a bottle of wine miss'' says Morkai when he can get the maids attention. He gives her a gold piece.
''Oh, and I heard some stories while traveling about saying there was some kind of trouble or weird happening in the area. have you heard anything about that?'' he asks her
Maids usually hear lots of things and nobody likes to gossip more than they do.

Hextor listened to the terrible music and watched the crowd, not paying much attention to the rest of the group. All he could think of was what was this terrible evil threatening this place!
Thankfully, Morkai, as usual, wanted to find out any information he could. He asked a maid if she knew anything. Great place to start and gather information! maids were terrible at keeping secrets!

Alana was glad that someone had managed to wave the barmaid down, she was having a hard time getting anyone's attention. She ordered a plate of whatever was being served today and a glass of wine, coming up with the silver and copper pieces to cover the meal. She didn't want to be drinking as heavily as the others, since she planned on doing some gambling later. She scanned the crowd to see what her prospects were for the night.

alana: the prospects don't look good as most of the people appear to be farmers or tradesmen
Morkai: the maid basically says that there are orcs and goblins roaming about 10 miles or more to the east of the town, towards a town they wiped out.
food is brought and deposited in front of everyone, nice since this is a different barmaid.

Alana looked at her plate and smiled, giving he barmaid a few extra copper pieces she had. "Goblins and orcs eh? Well, that doesn't sound too bad. Are you boys thinking what I'm thinking? Kill a few orcs and maybe get a reward, enough to last us for a while." She didn't even have to say that the town the orcs destroyed would probably still be loaded with goodies that they could loot to suppliment their fortune.

"Orc. It's been a while since we've hunted Orc. Let us hope their treasure is plentiful and their fight a challenge." He fills another mug with ale, drinks it down fast and follows it with another. Seems he has to lift the barrel to get the alcohol out now, he sure has drunk a lot...

Alana slapped her friend on the arm, barely moving him with the effort. "Hey, slow down big guy! If you get howling drunk again I'm not going to have the gold to get you out of the town jail." The last time he got howling drunk it cost her several gold pieces to pay for the damages. Who knew two dresses and a new set of horseshoes cost so much?

''Orcs and goblins? Headed towards a town they wiped out? Well if they wiped out one whats to say they wont wipe out another? Is this town safe?'' a little taken aback by how casual the barmaid sounds giving that bit of news.
Orcs and goblins aren't much of a treat in small numbers but when enough of them gather to go after towns they dont usually stop at one unless someone stops them....

Hextor was sitting upright in his seat now. The news of the orcs actually destroying a whole town distressed him to no ends!
"This news is dire indeed. Something must be done... How far away is this town they destroyed and do you have any other information that may be useful?" He asked the maid.
Morkai was right. They could come and destroy this town next! Hextor would not stand idly by and allow this to happen!
