don't know how much majere weighs, but a war pony can carry 101-200 pounds for a medium load and have speed of 40

Majere isn't fat...he's frail and quite thin. And he only weighs 135 lb so, you should be able to take the weight

Okay, okay, so I know it wasn't the most intelligent thing to do; your scout tells you "Bad guys ahead!" you don't normally say "I wonder if I can speak with them!"...but that's kind of the way Taern works. She doesn't like fighting and won't do it if she doesn't know for sure they need to be fought, even at the expense of her own health. (I bet she gets shot at a lot!)
