[Oloth the Mad]

This small ruined fortress is little more than a stone manor and a walled courtyard with a tower, now collapsed. The upper story of the manor has fallen in entirely. It was apparently made mostly of wood, and only smashed and charred timbers remain. The condition of the manor’s interior is questionable. All is quiet other than the buzzing of mosquitoes (which are thick), since little life makes its presence known around the moathouse.

"Sure, throw me in first and see if anything eats me." Alana looked around for a good tree she could climb, that way she could get a good vantage point. "If I can get up a high tree, I think I give us a lay of the land, and spot anything obvious. Orcs aren't exactly stealthy you know." Finding a tree that suited her purposes, she grabbed onto the trunk and began her ascent, hoping she could scrurry up the tree without falling off.

barely finding a tree you're capable of finding, the branches bend and creak as you climb up onto it, but even though you climbed the tree, you don't see much movement coming from the inside of the moathouse.

"It looks pretty rundown, but quiet. I tell you, this place must have been nice in it's time." Alana climbed back down, and dusted her hands on her breeches. "Okay, I'll go in first I guess. If you give me a few moments head start, I'll see if there are any guards or hoardes of orcs ready to roast me alive." Alana took out her crossbow, loaded it, and started her reconnaissance. She kept low and away from the trail leading to the moathouse, finding shrubs and other plant life that concealed her as she continued to close in on the moathouse. She didn't want to just wander up and trip some sort of trap or alarm.

Alana screamed when the creature grabbed her. It was so fast she didn't have a chance to even see it before she was struggling to keep it from getting a good hold on her. She slipped and squirmed before it could get a hold of her and drag her into the watery moat.

now that you've escaped, you can see it's a giant frog, almost big enough to swallow alana in one gulp.

Alana brought up her crossbow, wanting to injure the creature and give her time to get away. She raised the crossbow to her shoulder and fired, hitting the frog before it had a chance to attack her again.

Hearing the little one scream out somewhere ahead, Sven's axe is off his back in an instant and he speeds to her aid.

Alana kept her distance from the giant frog, reloading her crossbow and firing from the hip before it could try and close on her again. Where were those idiots? There is no way they didn't hear her scream when the frog first grabbed her. She wished she had a bigger weapon, like a ballista maybe.

Sven hurried to his companion's position as fast as he could, eager to shed some blood.
