Logen paused as he went to open the inn door. There were more outside? And there was a hunt for a criminal. Damnit, can I never escape, he thought to himself.
He stepped away from the door and folded his arms. He wasn't in the mood for this rubbish. Being ordered around and such.
Slowly, he started to calm down. He closed his eyes and concentrated on his breathing.
He waited for the men to come back down from upstairs so he could leave and get some air.

Bredak goes to the bar and orders a bottle of the strongest stuf they got, then walks to Logan.
"Calm yourself friend" He says, handing Logen the bottle.

Logen looked down at Bredak as he accepted the bottle. He tilted his head, looking at the bottle like he had never seen a bottle before.
"Thank you friend, but not right now." Gripping the bottle by it's base he cracked open the top. he then pulled out a little canteen from inside his armour and unfastened it's lid, filling it to the brim, then replaced it back in it's hiding spot.
"Not now, but there's always a later!" A smile returned to his face. "Where are those guards!" He mumbled.

Taern stiffened visibly at the soldier's words. Mister Platinum? Surely he didn't mean...the Platinum Knights? Bahamut's elite, here searching for a dangerous criminal. With a conscious effort, she forced herself to release Ebflem's hand and the crushing grip that she'd been startled into. "Sorry," she murmured to him, trying to shake the tension out of her limbs. They could be looking for her. She wasn't going to jump to conclusions; this mission couldn't be compromised even if it meant she couldn't be a part of it. She would never tell -- lies fell easily off her tongue, for the greater good -- and she doubted that, if she were their quarry, they would be much interested in truly finding out.
A silent prayer to Pelor, and she went back to picking up her shield and weapon. A dangerous criminal...but it might not be her. She pondered that; she had noticed many of her comrades stiffen just as badly as she did. Overall not a good image for her party, she had to admit, but then, it was usually the lawless kinds that got talked into doing ridiculous things like...stealing egglings. They had to be a good sort, to aid in her quest for freedom.
Taern bit her bottom lip, torn between two potential paths. Should it come down to it, and the Platinum Knights were out there looking for her, she had two options. Give herself up, and die knowing she didn't harm more of Bahamut's followers, and knowing that her comrades could continue their mission safely. Or...fight. Fight and live knowing she was responsible for the deaths of good people, and likely face damnation for it. Could Pelor save her from that? Would Pelor save her from that? Surely. Surely the deaths of a few unenlightened were worth the freedom of all...but what a hefty price.
She turned her attention to Logen and Bredak. She didn't like it, and truly she wanted to crack the man's head open, but there were larger fish to fry in this moment, and she held her peace. She turned to Tanner, kneeling to speak quietly in his ear. "Tanner, I must ask you a favor, perhaps the largest one you have ever been asked." She paused to make sure she had his attention, and also to see if any were trying to listen in. "If we go outside and those men try to hurt me, or take me with them...don't fight. It's not something I want you involved in. If I am taken, you must continue on and complete our task. It is important beyond everything, including my life. Don't let the group falter. Promise me this. It may be the last I get to ask."

Logen kept his eyes on the ground. He was getting bored waiting for the guards to return. he also listened to Taern speak to Tanner. So she thinks she is the one they are after? Logen thought to himself. I wonder why she would think that? He looked up and had a proper look at the scars on her face for the first time. Scars meant nothing, he had his fair share but these were different. She had been mixed up in something tragic. She didn't want saving either. He knew her kind as well. Who were all these people. They had more in common then he previously figured.
"Taern, it will all be fine, I promise you..."

Tanner looked up into her eyes, "I promise, I will not fight outside of the tavern, but lass, don't think that I would not come and break you out of prison. We must carry the fight, or else the balance will never be returned."

She hadn't realized he was listening. Taern shot a look at Logen, wishing he would watch his tongue in front of the remaining guard. Her face begged for caution, and she motioned him over to her and Tanner. "Of course everything will be fine," she said loudly. She continued speaking with Tanner then in a low voice, moving over if Logen decided to join them. "Don't be naive," she said softly, talking so that her voice didn't carry. "And I don't need promises. They're meant to be broken. Both of you, listen to me. There isn't time to play favorites. This is about the fate of the world."
She sighed, running a hand through her hair and looking at the guard. "Worrying about breaking people out of jail is only going to postpone our goal. We don't want people to get hurt; they're the ones we're trying to help. We can't just run all over people to get our way. The law may be wrong, and it may be hurtful, but it protects the people and they shouldn't suffer more than they already are."
She looked between Logen and Tanner. "Now, I believe there's a Platinum Knight outside. You may not know, but they're Bahamut's elite. The best of the best. They are...the ones children dream of being. I did. But they are relentless, and whoever they are after, they'll find them. It may be me...or it may be someone else. Let's just be patient and see what happens."
