"Death comes to all in the end, just longer for some." A little smile tickled at the corners of his lips. The ugly one was still reading the page, his giggling had quietened.
"You may help us if you wish but the next component doesn't lie here in Opal. Chimney is our next destination . Due west. Our friends are waiting aboard a ship in the docks. You would have to find your own way back here though. No idea where we are headed after Chimney."
"The Captain won't be happy with another guest..." Goblin warned One-Eye.
"You just leave The Captain to me." One-Eye replied. Turning to Crow, "We leave shortly..."

"I will join you, after all, gives me a chance to learn new languages, and well, not much holding me here really, but are you sure this captain person won't be upset with you with bringing another person along?" Crow says and asks.

"Don't worry about it. And it's The Captain. Trust me, you don't want to go calling him something else."
Goblin looks up at the two. Reaching forward he closes the huge book. It slams shut with a gust of dust. Little bits of paper fly everywhere.
"Bring the book you were reading, the voyage can get quite boring. Also we leave in 3 hours. Collect what you need and meet us down by the dock. Look for the large dark red mahogany ship with a black sail. ."
Goblin turns and starts to walk out of the library, One-Eye follows him.
"We won't wait for you..." Goblin called out.

Crow tucks the book he was reading under his top. As he scuttles out he grabs a few more.
Roll 1d8, result = #d100 so I can figure out which books you nabbed.

Crow waves to the librarian as he leaves and heads towards the port area, looking for the boat that was described to him by one-eye and goblin, and then heads towards the plank of the ship.

One-Eye looks up as he sees Crow making his way towards the ship.
"Just in time, we're literally setting off!" As he speaks One-Eye clambers aboard ushering Crow forward. A man pulls the gangplank and shouts something. The ship starts to move.
Men scuttle across the deck getting things ready.
"Time to meet the boss." One-Eye says to Crow.
He leads Crow towards and door, then headed down stairs and pushed open a door on his right.
A man sat behind a desk. Another stood to his right. Goblin sat in a chair to the side of the room reading from a small book.
"Captain, this is the one I was telling you about..."
"Yes, yes, I can see that." he looks up from his desk. "I am the Captain. We are The Black Company, a mercenary group. Tell me, what can you offer our little family, before I throw you over board?" The Captain stares crow directly in the eyes.

Staring the captain back, not looking away or blinking, Crow says, "Well, for one, i studied languages, and can actually read and write some, i helped the two i talked too find the recipe they were looking for, and well, they know what i am, and i can help in small ways, eventually, when i gain more power, in more powerful ways, of protecting this band of mercenaries, and well, i can't swim either so throwing me overboard isn't a good option."

"Can't swim? Ya don't say!" The Captain lets out a howl of a laugh. Goblin chuckles to himself. A few minutes pass of the Captain just starring at Crow.
The Captain cocks his head to one side. "One-Eye, he's your charge. Oath will be taken when we reach Chimney. The other recruit as well. Get, I'm sure there's something for you to do." Goblin laughed at One-Eye being treated sourly.
One-Eye turns to Crow and motions for him to follow. He closed the door behind them.
"The Captain has accepted you, as he said you will have to take the Oath, nothing to worry about though." One-Eye lead Crow down the corridor took a few turns and descended a few more steps, stopping in front of another door.
"This is your room, get some rest for now. You get off easy until you take the Oath, THEN you work hard."
