"You sure?" Peter asked. He gave a sour look at the boards he'd slipped from last time and this time, it wasn't just his own hide at risk. "If you say so. Shame we didn't keep hold of any extra rope. Ah, nem'mind eh."

Laura waited impatiently by the vehicles, checking them over while she waited for the others to cross. The Landy's seemed to be in running condition, but they could also use a little TLC when they got back to this farm. There were plenty of vehicles they could cannibalize for parts, so that wouldn't be an issue.

Leon nodded in agreement “Yeah true enough hindsight and all that, but no you go on,but I reckon dragging sleeping beauty here will stress it more than you will, best you go first”

Peter grunted a thanks and made his way towards the planks. He shifted Billie's weight in his arms and then tried his luck on the first board. It gave a slight creak, so Peter adjusted his position and tried again. It wasn't just his own neck on the line, he had Billie to think about now.

The planks made noise but seemed stable, in fact Peter found it easier to balance even with Billie in his arms.

Continuing to tread carefully, Peter made his way along the planks as best he could. Funny, he thought, it seemed a lot shorter on the way over. Without risking a look down, he made his way to the other side.

All the group traverse the rope bridge without a problem and make it to the land rovers. Adam and Billie are settled down in the back seats, still asleep or unconcious.
The journey back to the farm seems to be quicker, everywhere you look bodies lay or the black forms of the slugs. The place definately looks like the world ended. Your noses can all imagine what this is going to smell like in a couple of weeks...and it certainly isn't pleasant...
As the vehicles travel up the gravel path, people stand and watch smiles on their faces...
