Artin nods to the woman saying one word "yes" he runs over to the fallen woman and tilts her head back to open her airways then draws out a hypodermic and give her a general anasthetic, he then proceeds to identify and treat the injury, calling over his shoulder in a confident voice "If she has been stabbed or indeed has any form of open wound the we need to move her, get her out of the mud and into somewhere clean and preferably somewhere out of what I suspect to be an incoming storm." he finishes glancing up at the cloud-filled sky."

"I can help carry her, and you can use my robe to cover her. It is going to get colder, and it doesn't bother me as much." This served two purposes for Shu'Ka: She would be helping someone else, and it also got rid of her white robes. She could always find something else to wear later.

"There's the the canteen tent," Jenna offers. "There's some space around there that's clean and private." I hope the boss doesn't mind.

"How far is it? Can we move her there without making the wound worse?" Shu'Ka had seen wounds before, when raiders had tried to defile the temple. She had said a special blessing over the guards that had been wounded while protecting her. The words came to mind, but she didn't think this was the place to do it. Too many eyes and ears for her to start getting careless.

Jenna nods and points to a large tent behind the crowd. "She was walking earlier," she explains. "You're right, we shouldn't move her too much, but she managed to get here on foot."
Turning on her leg - and trying to stay dry - Jenna asks the little girl: "What's your and your mummy's name? I'm Jenna." She looks up to the Lady in White and the doctor. "These people are here to help you."

"And you can stay with me for a bit" said Ren to the small girl scarcely able to believe that she had been asked to care for such a precious and beautiful creature. "Come over to my cart and you can help me trade me veges. What's them fruit you got? Never seen nothing like 'em before I ain't. There's plenty here who can help yer mam, let's us leave 'em to it for now". Ren turned to Jenna. "I'll keep her wi' me while you..." she indicated the injured woman. "Just gimme a nod when it's ok to bring her over there will you?" Taking the child's hand Ren led her over to the cart, thanking the woman who had minded it for her. "What's your name?" she asked the girl. "You can call me Ren, everyone does". Ren took another look at the clouds, they were definitely closer. If it was hail they could hide under the cart, but what about her poor horse? He would be killed for sure without shelter.

Jackson looked at the commotion, he felt sorry for the girl she reminded him of his sister and seeing the mother like that brought tears to his eyes. I should help her, he thought.
He pushed his way through the crowd, maybe who ever caused the injury was still around, he moved his book bag all the way around and gripped his cricket bat tight.

The woman was moved to the canteen area, Artie when he examined her found that it wasn't a knife wound it was a bullet hole. There was no exit wound so the piece of lead was rattling around in her body somewhere. He also noticed the scarred stub where her tongue had once been.
"My name is Lucky, apparently my grandpa named me. These are apples, " she offers Ren one. "You bit into them and eat all the flesh, they are very sweet."

Artin was disturbed by the missing tongue, he turned to those that remained in the tent, "It was no knife that harmed the woman but a bullet, one that appears to still be in the body, I will need to get my surgical equipment, wait here and make sure she is not disturbed" Artin did not wait for an answer as time was of the essence, so he ran from the tent and headed straight for his hidey hole, 10 feet up the north side of the nearest tower.

As the group of them waddle off towards the canteen tent, Jenna turns her head and does an odd double nod. She's looking at Ren when she does it, but the direction is back towards the eating place. I hope she picks up on that, she thinks.
.....
With the injured woman laid out on a table in one of the prep areas, Jenna tries to take stock of the situation. She didn't remember hearing a shot, so how long ago was it? She pulls up a wooden crate and takes a seat next to the woman. "It'll be okay," she says taking the woman's hand. "We've got a bit of medicine here and there."
Her marbled eyes swirl with colour as Jenna takes in the woman's appearance. Where did she come from? she ponders inwardly. And why did someone shoot her? "Oh, Saints," she whispers. I hope I've not brought trouble to Terry's door.
"Can you hear me?" she asks the woman.

[ December 5, 2009, 10:24 pm ] - Gryffydd65 rolled 1d20 ± 2 and obtained 16 ( 14, ). Reason : spot for jackson.
Jackson looks around the crowd as he hears that the woman had been shot, guns were like fables to him, something his grandfather had told him about , but nothing he had ever seen before.

Ren looked at the fruit the girl was offering in awe, hardly daring to touch it. "Apples?" she breathed. "Them's really apples? Never thought I'd see the like" She cautiously took the apple and bit into it, her face expressing sudden delight at the sweet taste. She finished it rapidly, finding out almost too late that there was a hard bit with black things in at the middle and that wasn't so nice. She ate carefully around that part. "Them's the seeds aint they? If I take 'em home wi' me and plant 'em, would they grow into an apple tree? We aint got no trees on our place, but where in the world did you get 'em from?".
From the corner of her eye, Ren caught Jenna's nod. "Looks like there might be news" she said. "Let's us get over to the tent. What happened with yer mam?" she asked. "She looks proper poorly, but I'm sure they can fix her up ok". Leaving the cart in the care of her neighboring stallholder again, Ren led Lucky towards the canteen tent.

Artin collides with the wall, just not enough height to the jump.
Jackson stands on a raised concrete plinth, in the distance he can see some kind of machine glistening and strange white creatures walking about around it.
Lucky holds out her hand for Ren to take it was obvious she need some comfort before going to see her mum. "We had a farm, Mum, me and grandpa. I talked to the tree and it liked me and grew for me. Some raiders came, they killed granpa". Her blue eyes filled with tears as she mentioned his death, "They lived at the farm for 6 months....they hurt mum.......we ran away." She paused for a moment before saying, "Some men came in a big shiny machine in the sky, they had funny suits, all white. Mum stabbed one as he wanted to take me away and she got hurt by a long black bang thing." She swallowed several times so she didn't cry before smiling at Ren and replying, "Yes those pips grow into trees, you have to keep them warm and talk to them but they grow"

Sticking to the wall with the natural adhesive on his fingers Artin braces himself on a jutting piece of steel, clenching his muscles and preparing, then in one carefully controlled burst he throws himself upwards toward the ledge where he knows his home to be.
