Dejected that the count had continued, but not really surprised, Jack watched as the group headed towards the door. "To hell with it," he spat, unslung his sniperrifle and followed hurriedly, coming up alongside whoever was in the lead. "Let me take point with you. It's what I do, after all. If I don't do that, I'm just an old guy with a gun," he said, not-quite-jokingly. Looking back over his shoulder, he made sure people were ready to go. "We had fun though, right?" he said, then raised his hand, ready to punch the button that openend the doors. "On your order, sir,"

Sage cast her eyes over her team, pulling at her bottom lip with her teeth as she did so. “Well troops, I suppose this is the point I’m suppose to make a rousing speech,” she smiled solemnly “buy hey you all know what you have to do and how much I think of you all” her eyes locked with Michelle’s for a second before turning back them towards Jack “So, I’ll not laden your ears, lets get the show of the road Jack”

Jack looked over the group, as though waiting to see if anyone else had something significant to share; if the door opened into the void of space or something similarly final, there would no time for talking later. Still, it would have to be now; the countdown was steadily creeping towards zero...

"I can't agree more" said Michele. She held out her hand to Dean. "Whatever's happened back there Dean I never hated you or meant you any harm even though I didn't always trust you" she said. "For what it's worth I remember you as being a friend". Michele caught Sage's eye when she glanced her way for a second and nodded fractionally. There was no need for anything to be said between them, their friendship went beyond that. "Come on Dean, shake on it and then let's get our collective a*ses out of here" she said.

As you push open the door and rush the darkness is suddenly punched by bright light a clear voice rings out from the light " stop! stand to attention " you can not resist the voice and line up eyes darting round as your eyes become adjusted you can see thousands of people and other strange figures and words catch your ears.

" ladies and gentlemen, humans, rocaraners, atlantians, vilanges, insetctors, dregin empire, membari and other minor races we have a winner."
a massive roar of approval washes over you as the vision in front of you stands to applaud hundreds of beings
" congratulations to the humans they have won the arms fair and right to supply the races with these new genetic adaptable solders "
another roar of approval ahead of you several people advance to the raised dais.

the first to step forward and accept the award is Michael donigan (Dean Conell) lookalike Genetasist
then Julia johnson (Michelle Rogers) lookalike bio engineer
then Gail harvey (Sage Harvey) lookalike mechanical engineer
then John dawson (Brian Sears) lookalike mechanical engineer
then Dawn winters(Natasha Golding) lookalike bio engineer
then Tracie toqwer (Jessica Drake) lookalike software programmer
then Jacob maoly (Jack Rudeger) lookalike Genetasist
then Kevin Charles (Tristan Miller) lookalike software programmer
each of them step forward in turn and receive the award turning they return to the dais.

" as a sign of great gesture one each will be given to the council of Eight planets representatives as personnel guards "
the crowd goes wild with approval fire works and other festivities begin round the stadiums grounds.
a large van pulls up in front and the side drops down 9 seats in front of banks of monitors a man steps out of the cab and speak "enter and sit" you move forward and take your seats
Each of the lookalikes come down each to there own face to pose for photo's after the picture a lead is inserted into the back of your head
you can feel the new programming taking effect and wiping the info and skills you had gained in the game.
"hey we got some residual feed back again" said dawn
"yes me too but not as much another tweak and it should be fixed for good"replied Tracie
with your new programming active you turn and set of to your new locations and masters.

your thoughts drift as they are erased.

OOCI was close as I thought it was going to be a virtual reality game and we were testing it before Global Tech marketed, but seems closer to Richard Morgan's Altered Carbon. Elements of Dollhouse as well anyone?

OOCWell, we'd be hard pressed to guess this exact end, but I'd say we certainly touched on the possibility that the whole thing was for entertainment purposes (which is sort of was, in addition to winning the weaponry), and that we were infact not real people, but clones or something similar.

Still, I can't escape the feeling that there was more to the story as we set out, than what we ended up with. As EB and Hoffsy touched on in the OOC-forum, there is quite alot of unanswered questions and 'red herrings' along the way, that made the story interesting, but that were sort of 'ditched' once we sat down in the machine. I'm curious as to whether that had been the idea all along, or if you found that you had to 'adjust' the story at that point. It was fair enough decision, we were entering into a more action-oriented part of the game, and the change made it easier to keep focused on that, perhaps. But it took a bit of the intrigue out of it (although granted, the new tech we kept discovering was neat too :) I for one rather enjoyed the few flashes of remembering stuff from the first part of the game :)

Also, I take it we were never meant to discover the truth until the very end, right? I can't see how we were supposed to, anyway.

Anyway, fun times, folks! Thanks to everyone, Gm and players alike for sticking in there :).Here's another one for the book! (Or archinves, rather ;) )

yes a lot of the bit were in there were of old memeory glitches that you should not have had and making the process more reliable with no memory flash backs was the aim each new machine helped erase another part of it while gaining new skills fast and adapting them to the situation all went more or less on what i had planned. just shorter fights.
alot of the questions like been strapped down and naked was just the starting point to show your adaptive skills and the genetic coding.
a few bit will remain mysterious.
i was thinking of going on from here with you out in the real world protecting the embassy members but might save that for later on.

as long as it was fun i hope i did a good job.

It was indeed fun and you did an excellent job, I enjoyed it immensely. Thanks for running it and if you do decide to take it further I'm certainly up for it
