Yeah, these windows break like they do in the movies . . . not in real life.

That is enough to get the car to start (and start it does). The car is also sufficient to push the back end of the blockade out of the way. Write it up as dramatically as you like.

In case my exposition isn't clear. The truck has come to a stop at the tip of the red arrow . .. just before the dotted line begins. The dotted line is the path Books is suggesting to get to the library (the red X). It goes past a few houses, through a line of trees and across some train tracks.
The big circled area is where all of the Zed activity is known to be.
You guys can hang out at the truck and chat for as long as you want before setting off. This would be a good time to make a plan.

It looked like everyone was ready to move out, so I advanced the story. If you guys follow Books' suggestion, you are making a straight shot east:
Truck --> Past the old house --> Through the small stand of trees --> over the train tracks --> into the town --> across the street to the library.
As you guys are passing the old house, you hear the noise inside. You can ignore it and keep going, or you can investigate.
Or something else?

Lots happening her at once now, so lets give everyone a chance to post again and weigh in before moving ahead.
Looks like:
-Sandy and Kate do some exploring around the house? We can do that, but it doesn't sound like Cap wants to go for that.
-Everyone backs away from the door (before, during, or after the above exploring), and Hoss gives the door a whack or two to see what might be in there.

Cap asked Hoss to hold hitting the door while he thinks it through. That and checking up on Lori.
