Allan was raised not to depend on anything. Many died without knowing how to survive, the old man said, and the tragedies of the past were nothing but lessons that one had to learn. Salliko thought Allan martial arts as well as belief in one self while keeping an open heart into being generous and helping others, while still keeping first hand scepticism.
This peaceful life of training and up bringing lasted 19 winters, however as the 29th winter of Allan approached, Salliko grew ill. For days Allan tried his best, but in the end, his old teacher died. The death was peaceful, but Allan mourned him for a while.
This was three weeks ago. Eventually Allan buried the old man, as we taught to do, and when that was done, he packed some food and tools and headed out toward the town he knew was nearby.
