Shraneal and Arrago leave the hotel suite talking in low and conspiratorial tones as they go. It might be that Stettler at least notices Osman Jones raise an eyebrow in either surprise or concern as the two depart.
Lady Margaret turns to Gryff, 'Perhaps then Gryff My Dear you could, as you say, explore the possibilities of a shipyard tour, or attempt in one way or another to find out more about Kreeg's vessel. Take either Renno or Morgan with you for company, and do be careful.'

"Yes ma'am I am always careful", said Gryff, "I think Renno would be the obvious choice to take, rather than Morgan. I am sure the steward isn't that interested in ships"

"Well Margaret, hopefully we will gather some information soon. How about we go and take a look at The Esperanza to see if she is ship-shape for tomnorrow.Orthan would you care to join us?Perhaps Morgan could check over her inventory to see if there is anything we need.Mr.Jones would you care to accompany us?"

"So which bar do you want to stop in first? Probably the one closest to their ship. Most crewmen don't want to to travel too far to get their kicks, so any bar close to the docks would make sense." Shranael remembered her times cutting loose after she got off ship. The closest bar was the only one she went into, Kreeg's men were more than likely no different.

Arrago nods "makes sense, after a hard few weeks or so working a 'roid all you want to do is slip off the ship, have a bit of fun and drink" he thought of the bar he went into earlier "I know just the place" he turned slightly as they walked and added "bit of advice though Shran, if we do find the belters you'd better watch your ass. These people are onboard cramped ships for maybe a couple weeks at a time, they might be a bit grabby"

Shranael chuckled in response to Arrago's warning. "I was the only woman on a corsair crew. I think I'll manage." She looked back as if she expected Orthan to be right behind her. "And don't we want a member of the crew to get grabby with me? Be a good way to lure him or her out."

Arrago chuckled at the suggestion. "Shran, what you do with grabby belters is your business. we're just here to find out the name of a bully boy that runs the 'protection' scam" he smiled grimly "then the fun begins"

"Well enough talking, let's get to the fun part." Shranael had been suppressing her urge for gratuitous violence for too long. She needed this like she needed air.

Arrago nodded and grinned, motioning for Shran to follow as he headed to the Lucky Belter.

Stettler had a worried look on his face; he had just experienceed some sort of 'memory lapse' or 'time lapse', maybe, clearly connected to the psionics training in some way, confusing his poor mind. In it, he had had an arguement with Shranael and Arrago. Trouble was, they hadn't actually said what he thought they had said. It had just inside his head, as had - luckily - his response. Now he was a little surprised to 'wake up' and realize that the two were getting up and leaving in the midst of what he had seen as a bit of a "war council". When next everyone seemed like they were pitching tent, he started wondering whether he had had blacked out somehow. He was fairly certain he had asked a question, but had gotten no answer. Or maybe he had, but he couldn't remember? When the Marquis next invited Jones, who had just mentioned going out to canvas for information with Stettler, to come along ack to the ship, the doc felt a slight panic attack that whispered to him that he was in fact not there, that this was another dream-walking. Then the feeling passed. He was definitely here. He could feel the table. Feel the chair beneath him. No doubt, the Marquis was only slighting him for his insubordination during the corsair attack. It sounded like a very 'nobleman' way of doing things.
Well, he wasn't a lap dog who would bark and whine for attention; he had his hotel suite, after all, and what with this lapse of confusion he had just had, he had enough to think about, too. He got up, muttered: "If you'll all excuse me," then he gave Jones a nod, and walked over to the bar, ordering a glass of rather expensive wine, and took half the glass in one swing. It help a little, but not much, to alleviate the feeling of being 'out of joint' with everything.

Jones regards Stettler with some concern and politely excuses himself. 'I will follow on later Marquis. For now I think I will accompany Dr Stettler and we shall see if I can pick up any useful information.'
