Renno is clearly both excited and a little nervous to be on a mission with Gryff. As you leave the Marquis' hotel suite and enter the lift he turns to the engineer and starts speaking quite quickly: 'So, how are we are going to get to see Kreeg's ship Gryff? I had an idea that maybe we could disguise ourselves as shipyard workers and then have access to all the working areas of the yard. What do you think?'

"No I think we keep it nice an simple Renno. The marquis frowns on relationships between staff, so we are looking for somewhere else to work. That should give us the freedom to have a look around the shipyard," she smiles at him and squeezes his hand. "After all we are technical staff not spies, the simpler the better."

Renno nods, looking at one in the same time a little disappointed but also somewhat relieved.
'So, where do we start? I suppose there might be an employment office somewhere, or at least a noticeboard.'

'Okay then', Renno seems keen to get on with the plan, 'No time like the present Gryff....... do you.... do you think we should take s....... some protection?' This last he says quietly and with evident nervous excitement.

Gryff laughs, "You thinking of having sex at a time like this?" she knows what he means but tries to laugh it off. "We are going for a look round not to hurt or kidnap anyone, we should be fine"

Although Renno smiles at the joke, his face reddens and he simply falls into step alongside Gryff as you make your way together to the Information Point on the Main Concourse.
There are computer terminals which can be accessed for information available to the public, but there is also a kiosk in which sits a somewhat officious-looking young woman; it may be that she maintains that look on her face with the express intention of discouraging too many clients, but it is nonetheless certainly the case that the easiest way to find out about ways to look for employment here would be to ask her.

"Excuse me miss," said gryff politely, "I wondered whether you'd be aware of any mechanic or engineer jobs going in this neck of the woods."

Acid drips from the woman's smile. 'I am not an employment consultant you know. Try down at the yard offices, I understand that they have a "positions vacant" down there. If you need to know where it is then consult the screen to your left.'
Renno's mouth drops open at the rudeness of the woman; he looks at her astonished, so much so that she looks back at him and asks sneeringly 'What?'
'N.....n......nothing' Renno replies and hastily turns back towards the screen she indicated a moment ago.

"Thank you for your help, ma'am" Gryff replied with honeyed sweetness. She looked at the screen and worked out how to find the yard office.

The yard office is easy to find and accessible from both the public side and the working side of the shipyard. A damp-skinned diminutive bwap rubs her shiny hands together as you come through the door and then mists herself lightly from a bottle before readjusting the wet towelling that serves as her hat.
'Good day' she says brightly, 'What may I do for you today?'

"Hi there" said Gryff with a shy smile, "We're looking for some employment opportunities, something engineering, mechanical based. Having a few problems with our current employer and his rules and regulations aren't we hun? Gryff grabs Renno around the waist and pulls him closer...

'Oh, I see' says the bwap, although as is common for members of her race she may well have little idea of the intricacies of the human mating game, 'well, I will most certainly be able to help you, we have a positions vacant board here. First of all though, if you could fill out some forms, would that be acceptable?'
Even as she speaks she clears the counter top between you and activates a long touch screen. With swift movements of her long grey fingers she brings up two identical forms. They appear to be simple registration forms of the sort that you would find in any number of agencies across the Spinward Marches and beyond.

Trying to keep it as simple as possible, Gryff filled in her forms as honestly as she could...although changed her retirement from the navy to a discharge. She encourage renno to do the same.

Once you and Renno have filled out the forms the bwap comes back over to you; quickly she surveys the forms, it seems just to be sure that you have filled out all of the relevant sections.
'I see that you are Citizens of the Imperium and not of the Federation of Arden. I think therefore you will just have another supplementary document to fill out if you don't mind; following that there may be some additional taxation to pay on your first payslip if it is paid by a vessel registered in the Federation. Are you following me?' she asks most solicitously.
Renno cannot suppress a groan as another form is brought up on the touch screen. 'Here; here; here and erm... here' the bwap guides your attention to the pertinent subsections.
Finally done with the "paperwork" you are guided along to a screen and, at last, the "Positions Vacant" board for the shipyard is brought up. 'There you are' the bwap tells you, 'now let me see, ah yes, six positions advertised in engineering, two on the yard itself; three on ships in for work and one on a mining station elsewhere on the system.'
