'Excellent My Dear. I would say that if we count on around thirty to forty guests, and of course I shall see if we can entice a local journalist to come along.'
With that Margaret retires to the room Morgan has set aside as your private office and she starts to work.

As you poke your head around the door Margaret smiles and looks up from a screen that seems already to be displaying an embryonic guest list for your first trade reception.
'Well, this should prove fairly interesting' she says, 'quite the frontier out here; plenty of old-style merchant adventurers made-good, and all of them with their fingers in every pie! Ah yes, the others; I have asked Morgan to call them together as soon as they can come. I hope that this evening we can socialise a little and make some plans for our stay.'

Margaret's smile widens considerably. 'Rupert My Dear, the next little while is going to be a social and commercial whirl. You and I will stand serenely at the hub of it all and enjoy to the full the local colour. Now, back to my list; I suppose we should make sure to invite someone from the 5th Planet Syndicate, best no to to upset them if we can avoid it.'

'Oh I agree My Dear, but at least we know where we stand. The Administration in this system has its interests and so does the 5th Planet Syndicate; we are just traders of a sort and must tread a careful path. In the meantime, I think we should entertain.'
Margaret is soon immersed in her work and you know that when she plans such diplomatic or trade receptions every detail will be considered..... by the time the others start to arrive her preparations are well under way.
In the meantime Morgan asks you if the room allocation is satisfactory and insists that he should begin to prepare your wardrobe for the coming round of events......
'Sir, if you do not mind me making an observation, it may well be wise to make a small shopping trip to acquire some new cravats and perhaps one or two jackets in the local style. I have also noticed sir that some of the locals wear most garish shirts, utterly vulgar in my honest opinion, but which may well be considered the norm in these parts.'
As the steward talks he is laying out a dozen or so of your jackets and pairing them with outfits for you to select for the receptions.
