Pilot and astrogator fins themselves on the quayside observing the life of what appears to be a busy commercial port; workshops and freight-handling offices line the port-side; although every port is different, this is a milieu with which Orthan and Shraneal are intimately familiar.
Delaware passes by and smiles warmly 'I shall probably see you both at the hotel later then' she says, 'Bye Shraneal. Bye Orthan.'

A brief smile a weak wave greeted Delaware as she passed by Orthan “Will do” he replied trying desperately not to sound enthusiastic in any way what so ever, “Well” he began as he looked left and right “Another town and another port, where should we begin?”

"Well, I think we should go find a restaurant first. I'm starving, and you're going to spill the beans about Delaware. You can stop trying to pretend you like her, I'm not jealous." Shranael slipped an arm around Orthan's waist and let her nails drag up and down his side. "If you want to do anything with her you have to check with me first though."

Orthan turned sharply to face Shranael “I am a one woman man Shranael, I do not play away from home under any circumstances” he said seriously “I’ve had that done to me” his eyes clouded with sadness “And perhaps she had justification considering the state of me” Twisting his hands at the wrists “But I would never nor do I want anyone but the person that I am with. I’m afraid that I am so what old fashioned in that sense, but well that’s how I feel”

The starport itself is well provided for in terms of restaurants and diners; between the workshops and the freight offices there are all kinds of places you might choose to eat...... of course once you pass through customs and enter the city itself, no doubt there will be more establishments, although given that Quare is a scorching ball of rock without farming, fishing or hunting, genuine local fare might come down to textured algal protein and cultured carbohydrate compounds in a myco-flavoured sauce!

Shranael punched Orthan in the right kidney, less forceful than she normally would have if she was upset. "Orthan, everytime you get down on yourself like that, I'll hit you. So unless you like peeing blood, you forget that tramp. You're with a real woman now."

The blow caused Orthan to cough “Well I just wanted to make my position clear” he added belligerently “Moving on then” he continued slightly miffed at the blow and the inference of him being interested in another woman “Do you want to eat or should we explore?” he asked as he inhaled and coughed again “Though” his eyes began streaming “If that aroma is anything to go by, I think we may be safer sticking to the fare that Morgan dishes out when he can be bothered” He looked towards the gate as he wiped the bags under his eyes dry “Customs is just over there” he added hoping Shranael would take up the hint

Shranael slipped her arm back around the big pilot and put a cheery smile on her face. "I tell you what. You get to pick where we eat. You find the cleanest restaurant that smells and looks good enough to grace our presence, and we'll go there. I'll even pay." She froze a little when she saw customs, then realized she had nothing on her that would cause problems. "Usually I find a way to get past these guys."

Orthan looked down at Shranael as she spoke about the customs “Somehow that doesn’t surprise me” he replied a hint of lecturing entering his tone “But we have nothing that is going to cause alarm so come on try and be normal citizens and pass on through. He surveyed the port again “It’s not like we haven’t seen the inside of these places before, come one” He began striding purposely forward somewhat dragging Shranael behind him as she clung determinedly to his waist

"Now none of that Mister Straight and Narrow, you know I'll corrupt you soon enough." Shranael dug her nails into his side a little as they went, every fiber of her body wanting to steer away from the customs officials. "Well at least out here we can count on a good meal, and clean dishes right? Couldn't get that on Finian's ship."

Orthan shuddered at the mere mention of his previous captain’s name “No that particular outing had some very unusual aspects to it, good food not being one of them” he said staunchly “Now stop looking so damn guilty” he said smiling slightly at how uncomfortable her body language betrayed her as being “We have every right to walk through there, the same as everyone else, just because in the past you may not always declared everything” he said as lightly as he could. There had only been one occasion that Shranael had admitted that she had dabbled in a little piracy, he wasn’t sure dabbled was the right adjective or if it would have been more rightly described as plunged in to.

Shranael swallowed her nervousness and held onto Orthan, the look of confidence on her face masking her worry. "Alright, I guess you get to be in charge this time. Lead the way Orthan, I'll follow wherever you go."

The customs check-point is not the most intimidating that either of you have seen. Alongside the gateway a list of banned or controlled items and substances is clearly displayed.
'Welcome to Quare' the stern-faced officer says as it comes to your turn. 'Documents. Please. Citizens of the Imperium I see; ship's crew. Do you have any energy weapons, explosives, controlled substances on or about your persons? Please be advised that under Legislative Order 9944 you will be required to apply for a work permit if you seek employment, and should your stay exceed 30 days you will need to apply for a residence visa.'

Shranael shook her head and smiled as the man went over their documents. "No, I left all of my explosives in my other pants. I don't have to register my boyfriend as a dangerous weapon do I? He's quite the lady killer."

Orthan’s cheeks went through the whole spectrum of the colour red, as Shranael joked. Starting with a spiffy little rose wine pink he progressed towards scarlet until his cheeks ended up in full beetroot bloom. He squinted at the giggling Shranael before turning to the guard, trying to maintain some degree of decorum “My friend’s idea of a joke, I’m afraid” he said tersely and not the least bit amused “We have no such items on our person” he declared to the officer occasionally glaring at Shranael from the corner of his eye “Any suggestions to any must sees in Quare?” he asked
