The 5th floor of The Hotel Excelsior is transformed in the days that follow your arrival into a hive of activity fully focused on the official reason for your visit to Quare, that is the Imperial trade mission. Lady Margaret has jobs for most of you to do during the hours you are on shift:

Orthan and Shraneal are going to provide the taxi service for all guests who are invited to the forthcoming round of receptions. In the meantime you are both employed as "gofers" in the set-up phase. Streetwise rolls please: 2d6 + skill level + Int mod

Arrago is asked to provide security for the receptions and parties, screening guests for risks. This will certainly involve being the armed presence on each occasion, but also doing some research in advance on guests..... Quare has an active local news network, but also asking around in such a small city can be very productive.

Gryff: Lady Margaret asks you to adapt your skills a little, acquaint yourself with the Imperial technology being proposed for sale in the Quare system and act as a sales adviser. This is going to take some doing; none of this stuff is directly starship related, nonetheless Gryff is a capable engineer and can manage...... Renno can help as well.

Stettler is pretty much left to just be the doctor on call, although Lady Margaret does charge him with the task of acquainting himself with the medical or medical-related technology in the Imperial "catalogue".

Do go out and buy yourself the local dress, and then could you please check over the guest lists so that you can charm them all as only you are able, by knowing more about them when they arrive than they do.'

Arrago applied himself to the task, he made an effort to get cleaned up while off-shift, making sure to shave every morning and even trying to cover up the worst of his little scars. On-shift he scanned the news networks on the computer while wandering round questioning locals.

Stettler did as he was bid, glad to find that Jones had been right, and that they did indeed get time to continue the aforementioned training; the list of items that he was to aquaint himself with, was not unmanageable, and as a result there was time enough for other things; exercise, bloodparasite monitoring, and of course psionic training.

The Marquis squares his shoulders and heads out to do some clothes shopping and pick up some gossip on the way.Morgan will go with him to carry a few bags and keep his ears open.

Gryff picks up the information from Lady Margaret and starts to study the technology, she also goes to buy a smart suit and find somewhere to tidy up the mess she made of her hair!
